Designing some of the key story moments for the game was not only an artistic and creative challenge but also an incredibly rewarding experience. Every narrative beat and location were crafted with deep care, and it was an absolute privilege for us at Ubisoft Sofia to bring some of these moments to life.
Naoe’s journey unfolds across a variety of locations and events, each offering its own unique atmosphere and storytelling depth. Among them is a secret underground site - an remnant of the Assassin’s presence in 16th century feudal Japan. Having the opportunity to explore and shape this hidden space was both an honor and an exciting challenge.
One of the most interesting aspects of this location was merging the architecture of traditional Japanese burial mounds, known as Kofun, with the legendary lore and mystique of the Assassins. Striking the right balance between historical authenticity and fantasy-driven storytelling required care and respect, making the process even more fulfilling.
While I’ll remain spoiler-free, I truly hope that as you journey through the game, you’ll discover this hidden place for yourself and uncover the secrets it holds for Naoe.
This experience has been nothing short of remarkable - filled with admiration, deep respect, relentless dedication, and countless hours of learning and growth. But above all, it was driven by a collective pursuit of beauty and excellence.
I am profoundly grateful to all my colleagues, who poured their hearts and souls into this project, and it has been both an honor and a privilege to stand alongside them on this adventure.
A heartfelt thank you to Ubisoft Sofia for your passion, perseverance, and unwavering professionalism! ❤️
And a special thanks to Ubisoft Quebec City for the trust, support, guidance and amazing collaboration!
